Share Your Flight — Send a Live Tracking Link

A link, not an invitation to install something.

Tap share and FlyBud mints a public web page for that flight and opens the share sheet. Whoever receives it opens a page. There is no app to download, no account to make and nothing to accept.

The page keeps itself current — it re-reads the flight every forty-five seconds and patches the numbers in place, so somebody watching the plane cross the coast does not get thrown back to the top of the page every minute.

When the aircraft's own broadcast is being received, the page shows the good stuff: measured altitude, ground speed, true airspeed, the wind it is riding and the outside air temperature. When it isn't, it says so and shows a placeholder instead of dressing up an estimate as a reading.

What the shared flight link shows

✓No name, no email, nothing about you. The page knows a flight, not a person.
✓Revocable. Sharing a flight is an easy thing to want in a lounge and a reasonable thing to regret later, so the link can be switched off — and untracking the flight takes it down too.
✓Same link every time. Tapping share twice hands back the same URL rather than scattering copies you can never withdraw.
✓A bad link says nothing. An expired or wrong token gets a plain 404 that never reveals whether it once existed.

Flight sharing questions

Does the person need the app?

No. It is a normal web page that works in any browser, on any device.

Can they see my other flights or my account?

No. The page carries that one flight and nothing about who shared it.

Can I stop sharing?

Yes, at any time. Revoking the link or simply untracking the flight takes the page down.

Is it free?

Yes. Sharing a flight is free, because the whole point is the person on the ground, and charging for that would be odd.
